• Thursday 11 August 2022 All Ireland Scholarship Scheme 2022 YEAR 14 EMA The All Ireland Scholarship Scheme which is funded by JP McManus provides financial support to high achieving students from low income households. The scholarships were first awarded in the Republic of Ireland in 2008 and became available in Northern Ireland in 2009.

• Monday 20 December 2021 College Saint Vincent de Paul Conference spreads festive cheer amongst the community The pupils, parents and staff of St Columbanus College, Bangor raised a magnificent £2,585 for the Saint Vincent de Paul’s Christmas family appeal. The funds were raised by organising a non-uniform day and a donation link shared on the College’s ‘ParentPay’.

• Monday 11 October 2021 Face Coverings CORONAVIRUS GUIDANCE NOTE TO ALL EDUCATIONAL SETTINGS ON USE OF FACE COVERINGS IN POST-PRIMARY SETTINGS The current DE Coronavirus Guidance for Schools and Educational Settings in Northern Ireland states that “It is strongly recommended that post-primary pupils wear a face covering at all times when inside school buildings, including classrooms, corridors and confined communal spaces such as toilet areas. The Executive agreed on 12 August the requirement for post-primary pupils to wear a face covering in classrooms would, subject to review, apply until 8 October. However, for subjects where social distancing is possible, such as drama in a large hall, face coverings are no longer required.” In reviewing this approach, advice was received from the Department of Health that as prevalence of COVID remains high, it is appropriate that the current guidance on the use of face coverings in schools remains in place.
