BTEC Business is taught at GCSE and sixth year. Pupils have the opportunity to visit local business as well as visiting speakers coming to the school to assist with the learning and teaching.

BTEC Nationals in Business Level 3
BTEC Level 3 Nationals are vocational qualifications designed to help learners succeed. 1:Exploring Business |
Assignment |
For internally assessed assignments, students are required to carry out set tasks and create evidence around work-related scenarios. Assignments can include research, projects, investigations, fieldwork and experiments and often link theory with practical exercises.

2:Developing a Marketing Campaign |
Task |
A written task completed under supervised conditions over a period of three hours. Learners will receive a case study two weeks before the assessment period in order to carry out research to prepare and plan a marketing campaign.

3:Personal and Business Finance |
Written Exam |
Two-hour examination including questions on the personal finance and business finance units. |

Pearson BTEC level 2 First Award in Business
What does the qualification cover?
This course allows you to study the world of business, giving you the opportunity to develop knowledge and technical skills in a practical learning environment. You will examine the roles and responsibilities of setting up a new business and its financial management. You will also develop key skills, such as analysis and review of key financial statements.
This qualification has mandatory and optional specialist units.
These units include:
- three mandatory units
- one optional specialist unit
This BTEC First Award has units that the school assesses (internal) and an examination
that Pearson sets and marks (external).
